Throughout the school year, I would play Duolingo for around 20 minutes each day to brush up on vocabulary and conjugations. This has definitely helped raise my confidence as I entered my junior year. Unlike some of my classmates who forgot a lot of the earlier topics in Spanish, like objects and tenses, I have been preparing all summer. This made my transition from Spanish 4 Honors in to AP Spanish relatively easy. Towards the end of last year, as I picked my courses for this year (my senior year), I realized that I didn’t have room to take another Spanish course. I knew I had nothing to worry about, because I have been using Duolingo for awhile now. And thanks to this app, I am still able to hold full conversations with my former classmates and teachers in full Spanish. I used to always be insecure about my Spanish skills, but this app has definitely improved how I view myself as a learning student. I realize it’s okay to make mistakes because I can always try again. There’s no stress involved at all. If I miss a day, it’s not like the Duolingo bird would flop over and die (like in Plant Nanny), but I would just be able to work harder and longer the next day because according to this app, any progress is still good
