Health care has been a controversial topic for years in America’s government. Past presidents have had to decide on how much money should go to things such as Medicare and Medicaid, or think of ways to reduce the cost of health care for the American public. When Obama first set foot in the White House he entered it with big plans for his presidency. President Obama and his Administration decided early on that they were going to tackle the topic of health care and make it accessible to all American people. Obama’s plan to fix health care in the United States was the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. There are many people who support Obamacare and there are many others who do not support Obamacare. The number of people who disapprove of Obamacare has risen since its passage, in fact, for every 10 Americans more than 7 of them feel that Obamacare hasn’t been worth it; many of the negative thoughts of Obamacare come from families with higher incomes because families with lower incomes benefit more from it. (PR) “Opinions are now as negative as they have been any point since the bill’s passage.” (By Tom) Not only do the policyholders dislike Obamacare, but insurers do as well; yet the part of the public who believes in Obamacare says that “insurers are coming in with very competitive rates.” (Roarty) It does not matter which one is true or untrue, the fact that “the uncertainty surrounding healthcare regulation is beginning to have a negative impact on both United States insurers and policyholders” remains. (Political) Millions of Americans receive surveys asking them for their opinions of Obamacare and a majority of them don’t have many good things to say. According to a survey given by Bankrate.com, forty three percent of Americans feel that the ACA has had a negative impact on the country. Obamacare is going to cause businesses to undergo various changes, which subsequently will affect their employees as well. American employers are still trying to survive all the existing provisions and the provisions to come from the 3,000 page law. “The most [egregious] provision is a tax penalty on businesses with at least 50 workers who fail to offer adequate, government-approved health insurance.” (By Rep.) The tax penalty that these businesses receive for failing to provide adequate health insurance for workers can be anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 dollars; unfortunately consumers, shareholders, and workers have the burden of paying the tax penalties. (By Rep.) The employees at businesses are the ones who get the short end of the stick because they are the ones whose lives change due to Obamacare. For example, in the near future the ACA will cause one in four Americans, with employer sponsored health insurance, to retire early or leave their jobs. “Capitol IQ recently predicted that by 2020, nine in ten workers who currently receive health insurance through their employers will instead [have to] manage their own health plans on Obamacare-style government exchanges.” (PR) In order to avoid the new rules and penalties businesses will avoid growing their labor for or cut its number of employees under fifty workers; Businesses will hire more part-time employees, those who work less than thirty

We can't afford the best care and have to pay out-of-pocket for as long as we can, doctors are not accepting many of the Plans under ObamaCare. People do not pay their premiums, doctors have to see more patients, Dr's don't get paid from Insurances, so many other reasons. The world is indeed like The Hunger Games and other movies just folks don't believe in that "junk" the federal government controls and runs all…

ObamaCare is not a complete disaster in fact it is a great step forward in improving healthcare as a whole. It is also sad that there is a large percentage of Americans that have been manipulated, misinformed, and misled about the law that it has given a 52% disapproval rating. The law does not cover everything, the law is just a step in the right direction and will ultimately help average Americans with their health insurance. Yet with all this, there is still more work to be done to achieve the greatest possible healthcare system. So when Republican state that ObamaCare is the worst thing since slavery it is just propaganda for a political agenda.…

By their nature, social programs often face large opposition due to their debated popularity. Although some feel that these programs promote social good, others view them as an unfair drain on resources. Part of the reason behind this is that these programs work to cover those who cannot afford the costs by charging those who do not need to utilize them. As the ACA was no different, although 25 million new individuals have become insured under the ACA, the costs for those who previously had insurance have doubled and have noticed a degradation in coverage (Document 5). Specifically, according to The Kaiser study, in 2008 a family health insurance plan costed $12,680, while employees paid $3,354 (Document 6).…

There are some people who think the new plans are still too expensive for the average individual. Since the ACA started “An estimated 30 million Americans are expected to gain health insurance through the Affordable care Act (ACA) which is the largest reduction in the uninsured in four decades”. (Amy Anderson dnp, RN, CNE) this will require a larger workforce to meet the increased demand. With a shortage of nurses and other health professionals already this will cause increased stress, create longer wait times, and limit the people’s access to doctors making more people unhappy. “Thus far, the ACA has delivered higher health insurance premiums, higher deductibles, and less competitive health insurance markets” (Amy Anderson DNP, RN,…

The first thing to take into account is the fact that healthcare accounts for approximately 6% of the U.S. economy. The Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, or other unsavory names is actually in my mind making the medical field and the availability of care for patients more difficult. Regardless of its benefits to some patients, the Obamacare is making things much more difficult for doctors, nurses and anyone in medicine. It has done nothing but increase paperwork and costs, and has done nothing to increase the quality of care.…

It has caused health insurance to rise, and it has been said that the Affordable Care Act was going to ease the financial burden on Americans and improve their coverage and care. Neither of the two has yet to occur. The Affordable Care Act has also forced everyone to pay for the taxes that Obamacare requires. Every health plan with more than $25 million dollars of premiums has to pay a portion of that giant tax (Brase). In other words, even those who are not covered by Obamacare, but instead have private insurance plans, will still be required to pay the tax through premium increases and other fees (Brase).…
