Medical marijuana has proved that it can be beneficial to those who suffer from mental disorders. Marijuana has many properties that have calming effects which can be beneficial to those who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks (“Medical Dangers of Marijuana”). Doctors have started to prescribe medical marijuana as a treatment for anxiety because alternative treatments may have harmful side effects and don't work consistently for all patients. Research also shows that medical marijuana can help posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD patients have stress or anxiety that stems from one moment or event in their life.
