Two questions kept going through my head during the journey. If my school knew that my learning disabilities prevented, me from passing grade level Math and Science.Why was I forced to take three years of Special Ed Math and Science and fail out of the state Math test ? People from all walks of life walk down the path. Some have more challenges than others. But they all have the same objective. To get some sort of diploma or certification. The college route is traditionally the most common path. However every path to diploma or certification is already Pre written.
Your life featured obstacles but when it came to Academics you thrived or did average. Some subjects were more difficult than others but you still got a 3.0. You didn 't always like schools but it was never difficult for you. Your grades got you into a state school. Students who choose to graduate and or transfer from a Community College have a similar post secondary end goal.
If you and or your child is in college, but is unable to pass Math or Science, your located in what I like to call educational purgatory. Don 't fret I know it 's scary and frustrating. The good news is their are other people in the same boat as you. The bad news is that theirs no one path. Research is your best friend regardless of your academic/ none academic situation. Remember knowledge is power.
