At one poimnt in my life, I naively believed you could not be sued if you were telling the truth. Since I have morals, I will not write anything without legitimate confirmation. Still, Marc Ching and so many others can sue you for telling the absolute truth.
They may not win, but their goal is not to win, but to make you waste money. People like Marc Ching have no problem spending donations on lawyers.
Some may believe that what protects me is the fact that I could write stories based on unconfirmed information. While this is true, it would also go against every principle I believe in. So while I could create an Earth-shattering story, my morals will not allow me to stoop to his level.
What scares Marc Ching the most is not what I have written, but the stories that I could be writing from the vast amount of information that I have received. These stories would be legitimate and not violate my morals, but they would break my rules. If push came shove, well then, rules were made to be broken.
