LeBron James was the king of Ohio as a kid. That was a title that he took with him throughout the rest of his young life. Through high school, through the decision he had to make between college and the NBA and throughout his first 8 years in the NBA. As a young Lebron James rose to stardom so rose the hope that was buried deep with the fans of Cleveland sports. This was it, this was the guy that would lead them where they so desperately wanted to be, where they hadn't been since 1964. All the pressure was on and he seemed to handle it accordingly, emerging quickly as one of the NBA's most dominant players. However it all came to a screeching halt in the summer of 2010 when LeBron James became an unrestricted free agent,meaning he was free to sign with any team that gave him an offer, after a week of deliberation he set up a huge TV special that aired on ESPN called "The Decision" which drew criticism from reporters, players and …show more content…
This was when LeBron James utterred those infamous words that changed the course of his life " Im going to take my talents to South Beach." After this Lebron James was no longer the king of Cleveland, there were no more billboards of him, no more jerseys being sold, in fact Cleveland fans are famous for being video taped while burining LeBron James jerseys. Leborn James had become the villian, not just of Cleveland fans everywhere, but the villian of the NBA and the villian of profesional sports. While in Miami James fielded critisicm for needing to join other superstars to form a "super team" in order to win, and win he did. James would go on to win back to back NBA finals in 2012 and 2013 while also winning MVP of the finals in those 2 years
