Argumentative Essay On Into The Wild

After reading the book into the wild by Jon Krakauer it showed me that Chris was not crazy and the different aspects of the trip. Why would someone so wealthy drop everything to go into the wild, although he did do it for himself, but did hurt everyone around him. He hurt everyone around him by dropping them and not talking to them and leaving them to find out about his death through the ones who found him. In the documentary that his sisters and parents starred in helped out with truth of his disappearance, and showed that he didn’t have the greatest childhood which could be apart of why he did what he did. When he was young his parents would fight and that could be apart of why he was so independent, and he was very protective over his youngest sister because of how everyone treated her. Personally Chris seemed to have been a very respective man, because he never complained about having to do something, he did anything and everything. One of the authors that Chris really followed was Ralph Waldo Emerson, and he really contributed to why Chris left because of his similar ways. Emerson seemed to be one of those that wasn’t afraid of fear, in fact he mentions in an excerpt from “Nature” that “I am glad to the brink of fear” (Nature - Emerson). That is what McCandless’s personality screamed out, he wasn’t scared to do anything he would do it no matter what, he wasn’t afraid to try something new or outside of the box. Another line that really made things clear was that nothing could fall in the path and stop him, he always found a way to go around it or still get through it, the line was “There I feel that nothing can befall me in life…” (Nature - Emerson). McCandless followed Emerson, because of Emerson’s ways and he wanted to be like
