Today’s economy is rapidly falling short of expectations with no definitive solutions in sight. Our government representatives show more concern for illegal immigrants than the wellbeing of American citizens. Too many people live in the moment instead of looking forward to the future. Boarder enforcement has lowered their standards since the early 1990’s, practically giving illegal immigrants a “free pass” when caught. These immigrants are processed through immigration offices faster than a stop at your local DMV. They are loaded on a bus after a slap on the wrist, again to be driven back across their respective boarders to be set free not more than a few miles from where they were apprehended on U.S soil. How is the political aspect of this affecting the up coming election? Let me ask you, how is it legal to let individuals vote in this country without any proof of identification? You can’t buy liquor, tobacco or lottery tickets in this country without a proper I.D. You can’t attend rated R movie, nor can you check a book out of your public library. According to our overseers of this great nation, you can vote in a presidential election to appoint an individual to lead this country without proving you are in fact a United States citizens. Now, why would they allow this to continue? We’re clearly not dealing with this problem correctly. Over 76% of individuals who took my survey disagreed with our nations current immigration reform. 81% disagreed with immigrants illegally working in the U.S. Our government took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic in the best interest of it’s citizens, 85% surveyed believe our government has fallen short of that oath. If our government can step up for the betterment of our nation, show true concern and passion toward our citizens and take off the blinders they so proudly wear, our nation as a whole might actually be able to take a step forward instead of two steps
