What is an argument? Fineman describes it as a clash between at least two people or parties over facts and ideas and in the search of answers. I think what makes Howard Fineman, in particular, required to make these arguments is the fact that he has reported on every presidential campaign and major candidate since 1983; as well as traveling in and writing about over 40 country and every state in the U.S. except North Dakota. Throughout all of his travels and all of his reports about politics here in the states Fineman has learned so much about the ins and the outs of how our country operates. On page 62, Fineman explains that there are a few reasons why our country was destined to argue about faith from the beginning. He says the availability of the bible at the time of our country’s founding along with how each group of people would interpret the book. On page 65, Fineman states that the idea of “revival” is an example of how faith and politics are intertwined in America. “Revival” meaning a political metaphor and that our country operates by a continuous

On August 9th, 2014, Michael Brown and his friend Dorian Johnson were walking in the middle of the street when they were approached by a police officer by the name of Darren Wilson. With there being altered stories explaining what happened next rather than choosing one side of the story we can agree that an altercation occurred and it led to the unfortunate death of eighteen year old Michael Brown. Because of the differing stories and videos online, I will not focus on whether I feel like the killing of Michael Brown was justified, but whether the process to indict/or not to indict Officer Darren Wilson was justified and not flawed. Beginning as soon as you read the table of contents of the DOJ report on the Ferguson Police Department…
