Argumentative Essay On Homecoming Court

The University of West Alabama announced the 2015 homecoming court, which is made up of seven girls voted on by the student body. The homecoming ballet is composed of a group of girls that made it through the interview stage. The next step is a campus wide e-mail that allows all students to vote on who will represent the university. Once the two- day voting window is closed, the results are announced. UWA has a standing tradition of having the homecoming court made up of one freshman maid, one sophomore maid and five upperclassmen. The homecoming queen is chosen out of the pool of five girls. The big announcement for queen is made at serendipity on Wednesday night. Ashley Hardy is the 2015 homecoming court freshman maid. Hardy is a sociology …show more content…

Paige Ip is a junior on the homecoming court. She is an integrated marking communications major from Meridian Mississippi. Ip’s campus involvements includes, serving as the vice president for the student government association and Beta Beta Beta, Blue Key and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies. During 2014, Ip was crowned Miss UWA and Miss Paragon.
“I’ve earned multiple titles throughout my life, but homecoming court is the one that means the most to me because it is something that is votes on by my peers,” Ip said.
Sydney Matthews is a member of the homecoming court. Matthews is a senior pre-medicine major from Meridian, Mississippi. She is a member of Beta Beta Beta, Blue Key, Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Epsilon Delta, Order of Omega and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. She is a Greek Council representative and serves as the president of Phi Mu Fraternity.
Jessica Smyth is a junior representative on the homecoming court from Clayton, Indian. She is history major and a member of the UWA Honors Programs. Smyth’s campus involvements include Fellowship of Christian Athletes and serving as a resident assistant in Gilbert Hall for UWA’s Housing. Smyth is a standout on the UWA’s woman’s golf team, where she holds numerous
