Several negative consequences surround this parenting style and some of them are lack of confidence, dependence on the parents, and loss of relationships. This is emphasized in the article by Don Aucoin where he argues that helicopter parents have caused late adolescence in their children. Stevens argues on the parents’ side saying, not everything the child does is, it’s the parents fault.
