Numerous articles on social media state foolish theories of how firearms on campuses can decrease the deaths of students. Supporters of allowing gun owners to carry weapons on college campuses say it can help students and faculty better defend themselves (Bidwell). Similarly, another ridiculous belief of protecting each other’s classmates like CJ Grisham’s that state, "As a student and a veteran, I appreciate the fact that I will be able to defend myself and my fellow students in the unlikely event that there is an active shooter at my university." To begin with, no student in their right mind will use guns for protection. Maybe if these unlikely events happened more frequently these kind-hearted basters would be the lucky ones to get shot
