There should be more laws restricting gun control The second amendment to the US constitution specifically says: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.” According to “2nd Amendment: Original Meaning and Purpose” article the main reason that led to include this amendment to the bill of rights was that the founding fathers were trying to prevent the country from having a tyrannic government . US was then braking away from Great Britain and the fathers feared that the new federal government they were implementing might become tyrannical.

Imagine if everyone carries a gun, some fights and disputes might not end up with just bruises and black eyes, but instead more people are going to resolve the problem by pulling the trigger. This problem will get bigger and bigger if we do not take action and make some laws to restrict the right to possess arms.
In my point of view, gun control laws are meant to protect the public, the greater good. Some people argue that they feel safe when they carry a gun, but they don’t put themselves in other’s people shoes who don’t cary a gun with them. Maybe they don’t feel safe when another person carries a gun. The solution for that person would be to get himself a gun, but if everyone carries a gun, that will be a greater problem. There is sufficient proof that some laws succeed in protecting the public. The best thing for society in general would be more gun laws. Some of these laws show the following statistics which are cited in the “ Stricter Gun Control” article. The article says that Aggravated assaults involving guns dropped 12.4 percent, violent crimes from guns decreased by 35 percent, and more than 500,000 convicted felons were prevented from purchasing
