Gun control, throughout our country, in the United States of America is a topic that is discussed on a daily basis throughout our country. It has had some criticism and some support by many citizens of the United States. The people who criticize believe that it isn’t the gun that kills, it’s the person behind the gun. The supporters of gun control believe that it is a power over other people and that guns lead to violence by shootings etc. Supporters also think that if we didn’t have guns that violence and death would decrease a lot in our country. The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed (cornell)." This Amendment is spoke about over and over again when it comes to gun control. Every little piece of this document mush be read and deciphered, especially the one that says “shall not be infringed”! This amendment causes a large amount of debate especially for such a plainly written clause of the Constitution. When saying the word militia, sometimes it is intererpreted differently with who you are talking to. Are they the same or were they meant differently? I think much more of the animosity is created by both side in the gun control debate or maybe dispute.
