For instance, Cook and has colleagues at the University of Chicago completed a study that said “70 inmates who had possessed a firearm, only 2, or 2.9 percent, had bought it at a gun store. The report found that percentage was in line with the findings of the Chicago Police Department when it traced weapons seized from suspected gang members.” In light of this, the author is showing that a very small percent of criminals that committed crimes with guns got them legally and the rest were illegal and, probably from gun trafficking. In “FEDS Claim Progress In Fight Against Illegal Gun Trafficking,” Walker states “Last year alone, ATF agents used trace data to recommend more than 2,000 suspected traffickers for prosecution.” To clarify, there are a lot of illegal gun traffickers that get these people their guns illegally. This relates to Cooks study because there are a lot of traffickers and there are a lot of people who get their guns illegally. Hence, we shouldn’t enforce gun laws in the USA because criminals get their guns
