On September 11, 2001, four planes were hijacked and crashed into multiple locations. Two of the planes were crashed into the north and south towers of the World Trade Center. Another of the planes crashed into the Pentagon. This series of attacks caused over 3,000 deaths nationwide; however, the casualties could have increased drastically if not for the incredibly brave, selfless, and patriotic actions of the 45 passengers aboard flight 93, the fourth hijacked plane.
