Mary Williams has been overweight her entire life. She suffered from diabetes, high cholesterol, anemia. Mary’s life was in a shamble, she did not know where to turn to. Mary lost fifty pounds, but regained the weight back in a matter of months after exhausting every diet whim on the market until recently after embarking on a voluntary abstinence from food of drink technique called intermittent fasting. Research studies have shown intermittent fasting is beneficial to fighting against obesity, reducing risks of chronic diseases, and aging in contrast to conventional dieting. Fasting has been around since human existence before the development of agriculture, grocery stores, or mini markets humans survived on sporadic food intake due to their …show more content…
Some experts believe periods of fasting gives the body time to heal and rest cutting the caloric intake and proving a natural healing state. Research studies are encouraging to some experts, but in contrast to the promising results other research professionals believe there is not enough evidence to provide a favorable feedback. My honest opinion concerning intermittent fasting is that it does work. Fasting has promoted me a healthy digested system contributed to alleviating my digestive ongoing instances with Gerd and bloating. Also, fasting has helped detoxified my body by eliminating unwanted waste daily,. Other contributions fasting has contribute to is lowering of my cholesterol levels within a month few months after incorporating fasting into my life. The benefits I have sustained intermittent fasting is mental stability in making wiser decisions professional and for personal growth. Fasting is a natural antidepressant opposed to antidepressant medications. Since fasting, I have lost a few inches in the mid-section, which contributing to my clothes fitting comfortably. I pray that further research would be conducted, studied, and help educate mainstream and make public awareness so that fasting can be recognized as treatment for the sick and disable who suffer from various disease, and also make fasting a way of life for anti-aging. God made the human body to self-heal and rest, we can win the war on obesity, cardiovascular and Alzheimer disease by a new eye-opener call intermittent
