According to the Washington Post, “Republicans and some Democratic Congress members are supporting the weakening of the Endangered Species Act under the new Administration” (Geuss). The Republicans have specially been disagreeing with the how they are handling the situations. They have said they they are improperly mining, drilling and developing land (Geuss). Others want to put a rule in place that allows a new species to be put on the list only once a species is removed from the list (Geuss). I do not think this plan we be very effective because it may take awhile for a species to be removed from the list, and then others could be building up, so then when they finally get the one species off the list they will have a couple of species that are waiting to get on the list. While the species are waiting to be put on the list, we as a population are not going to know that it is going on the endangered species list so we might continue to hunt that animal, and by the time they are finally make it on the list it could be too late and the damage is
