Christian Park Assignment #6 In this paper, I will define two concepts of personal identity, one being the Ego Theory, and the other being the Bundle Theory. By presenting examples of teletransportation and split-brain patients, I will show that the Bundle Theory is more plausible, which indicates that our natural beliefs of personal identity are false and inconclusive. According to the Ego Theory, a person existing over time is explained by a continued existence of a subject of experiences. The consciousness of a person is unified at any moment of time because there there is only one person having many experiences at that moment.…

Personal Identity is a very debatable subject. How do you know you are you, even growing up are you still the same person you were at age 5. I believe in the psychological continuity theory the survival of the psychology makes the person them. There is the opposing argument called the duplication argument, this argument says it “Relies on the transitivity of identity: If A is numerically identical to B and B is numerically identical to C, then A is numerically identical to C.” But your psychology is impossible to be duplicated there can only be one you at one place at a time no one can have your exact memories.…

Where are two people with practically identical genes found? In identical twins of course. The most scientifically accurate way of testing the impact that genetics have on a person’s beliefs, actions, personality, and other characteristics is through rearing a set of identical twins in two separate environments. Identical twins have the potential to become exactly the same person because they have almost the exact same genetic makeup. Discovering this was a total breakthrough for scientists studying the “Nature vs. Nurture Debate”.…

There are several different anthropic coincidences that explains the overall reason for the belief of the Anthropic principle and how the universe is precisely designed for the purpose of human life, evolution and survival. One of the many different anthropic coincidences is “The Strength of the Strong Nuclear Force”. This theory says that if the strong nuclear force had fluctuated even microscopically stronger or weaker, then the world would have never existed. The strong force holds nuclei together. There are about a hundred naturally occurring chemical elements, each of these elements are jointed together by the strong force to make particles and objects.…
