Argumentative Essay On Dog Food

What kind of health problem does your pet have? Is it their liver? Their heart? Their kidneys? Are they overweight? If so, talk to your vet and find out if a prescription diet dog food might be for your pet. Vets will often readily prescribe prescription diet dog food, but the problem is, your pet may not like them as much as they liked their other food. Just like humans, change is often tough, so a little patience and some know how on your part is important.

First, a good way to start, is to mix your diet dog food with the food they are used to eating. Dogs have a good sense of smell and if they can smell something familiar, it will help them eat something different.

In many cases not crushing the food, but still adding the filters will help your pet be able to sweep up the food in just a few licks. Again though, make sure you use enough gravy or sauce or whatever so your dog doesn't know what he is actually eating. Gradually you will decrease the filter.

Sometimes your vet may prescribe prescription pills. This is one of my least favorite pastimes. Some say it is easier to have your dog take pills then eat good food. I disagree. However, if you want to give pills, your best choice is to crush it up and give it with honey, or put the pill in a piece of cheese. Yes, cheese is fattening, but the pill is more important then the fat in the cheese so choose your battles.

Getting your pet to eat prescription diet food can be difficult but if you keep in mind the reasons why you are doing it, you will see the benefits much faster. You and your pet will be much happier, and stay together for a much longer

This condition is most often caused by a hypersensitivity to either food or environmental allergens, including pollens, molds, dust mites, and insect antigens (Becker). Some animals suffer with itchy skin and lesions while others don’t, and there could be many reasons as to why this happens.
