The main reason why they are so vulnerable is that they are the most interested in the newest technology. In an article written by My Republica, the author explains that teenagers and young adults are “the most vulnerable to such an addiction”(1) and that the technology becomes a very dangerous cause for accidents. This evidence explains that teenagers who are driving and addicted to technology are the most susceptible to get in a serious, if not fatal, accident. A similar study operated in South Korea showed that “18% of South Korean teenagers are addicted to technology” and that the government “provides boot camps” (My Republica 2) for the people who have that addiction. This shows that the government is acting to take care of this serious situation. Overall, teenage drivers addicted to technology are more likely to look at their phone while driving; therefore, they have an increased chance of being involved in a distracted driving accident. Some cities in the continental United States are more prone to very dangerous accidents that take place due to distracted driving. One of these cities is a very young, populated area in the United States -- San Francisco. This heavy populated city holds “the most dangerous streets in the country for distracted driving” (CBS Evening News 1). This is one example of a place where distracted driving is at an elevated risk because of the population and it is more common to become distracted in that area. The common fact that most people realize that the “more urban the county, the riskier the school roads” (CBS Evening News 5). Even the safest places where K-12 education takes place can also be the most common place for distracted driving. This shows that even though people drive while distracted, humanity can determine how dangerous it is because everybody is texting, drinking, or distracted while driving.
