Dr. Dietrich Jehle, a professor of emergency medicine at the University of Buffalo in New York, in a 2014 press release once said, “When texting, you're not as in control with the complex actions of walking. While talking on the phone is a distraction, texting is much more dangerous because you can't see the path in front of you." As said by Dr.Dietrich Jehle, you may think that you can see around you with your peripheral vision while texting. But, we can’t focus on our phones and our surroundings simultaneously. To conclude, texting while walking should be banned for the following reasons, it causes injuries, causes you to lose focus, and it can change people’s behavior. Although it sounds crazy, texting while walking can be as life threatening as texting while driving. As addicting it can be to see that post on snapchat, it can wait.
