Argumentative Essay On Distracted Drivers

Decent Essays
The topic that impressed me the most was the distracted drivers. Drivers are supposed to keep their eyes on the road at all times, we never know what is going to cross our way. When someone is driving, they get distracted easily but the driver doesn’t know it. The article “Distracted Driving” claims, “Each day in the United States, over 8 people are killed and 1,161 injured in crashes that are reported to involve a distracted driver.” Distracted drivers are causing most of the car crashes that have happened. They are the ones that cause deaths and injuries. If the driver would pay more attention to its road, we would not have this situation. My opinion on this topic is that people need to start paying more attention to what they are doing.

Imagine driving along an empty road at night when, all of a sudden, your car has a head-on collision with a Hummer with the force of a thousand raging bulls. The Hummer is not a car but rather a symbol for something infinitely more horrendous. The Hummer represents all of the effects of changing the driving law of 18 to 16, and right now we are the only ones who can stop this terrifying monster from entering our legal system. The first reason this law should be put off the road is because children are responsible at 16 and all other notions are ludicrous. Secondly, it is paramount that we instill these children with the responsibility of handling a car so that they may learn to handle life's problems and maybe ours.…
