When it comes to the topic of violent criminals, most of us readily agree that they should be put in prison. Where this argument usually ends however, is when it comes to juveniles. Where as some are convinced that juveniles brains are not fully developed, others maintain that they should have common sense. My own view on this subject is juveniles need another chance to prove themselves because we have all made bad decisions while younger.
I believe that delinquents should do some jail time for their serious crimes. Although they should get another chance to prove themselves that they have matured and realized what they've done. Because in the article "Startling Finds on Teenage Brains" by Paul Thompson says " In terms of cognitive development, as research on the human brain has shown, Brazill and any other young teen is far from adult". So it just tells that a teenaged brain is not completely developed yet. Therefore Delinquents can not be fully held responsible for their actions. …show more content…
The Court ruled a juvenile should never be sentenced to death for what they have done, under any circumstances. Just like in the case Roper V. Simmons (2005), which bans the death penalty for juveniles. 12 states have banned the death penalty for everyone and 18 others banned it for juveniles. Although in the case that involves Kenneth Young it showed no sympathy to the ex-delinquent because he is older now.
