When Booker met Ms. Jones for the first time, he felt like she did not like him. He felt like she wasn’t interested in him. She responded to Booker very short. “ She seemed barely interested-gruff, a bit dismissive, very skeptical. I could tell she was assessing me; it was almost like an interview with an employer who seemed to have no time or need for another employee but was nonetheless mildly curious.”(p36)
Ms. Jones was all about the children. I am almost done with my Bachelor's Degree and I would like to thank her for helping me thru these years, academically and economically. Elms College is a great college, but it's also pricey. Hopefully when I graduate from Elms College, I will start my career just like my mom, I graduate and she retires this coming year. Now it’s my going to be my turn to help her out. She made me want to be a better person. Thanks to Luz I have learned to be generous, I always wanted to be like her because, in my eyes, she is, the perfect role model.
