When I was told that there was a chance of me having cancer it changed my world tremendously. I remember wondering how did this happen and I never thought I would be in this position. I was told that chemotherapy was my only option. I was told that there were cells that were going to metastasize if I did not do chemotherapy. After a couple days, I could absorb the idea of possibly having this cancer but still could not wrap my head around the idea of chemotherapy being my only option. Through my year of service I would like to not only raise awareness but also help empower others who are in similar positions. Within my year of service, I would visit hospitals to help these people understand that they are not going through this alone and that there are many people who are here to help. I would act on behalf of those people who are going through this to help raise funds. Often this medicine can be given to alleviate some of the symptoms due to the medicine that is given to treat the cancer. Through my year of service, I hope I will have the opportunity to make a life changing difference and hope. I hope to raise awareness on this issue as well as
