Being a College campus police officers has its benefits. College is a different world and is a step closer to a dream job. Everyday parents send their kids off to college and worry, not knowing whether their kids are eating properly, not knowing whether they are sleeping properly, and not knowing if they are safe. College kids already have their hands tied with learning and making the grade, they should not have to worry about protection. In a way, college is like high school because you have to worry about bullying and hate. College kids bring all different attitudes from all over the US and this could potentially cause problems on campus. College kids seem to stress and worry about being home with family and this could potentially cause problems also. At the University of Maryland Eastern shore campus, campus police have many job duties to help maintain a peaceful campus as well as a protected campus. University of Maryland officers have a wide variety of duties. They are to report crimes and incidents, deal with parking violations, provide emergency resources, campus safety, as well as enforce sexual harassment policies. Campus officers not only have these duties but hey must keep all documentation on file of the incidents that occur.
