when writing an argumentative essay, first the writer needs to gather all the information needed to start the essay. The writer needs a topic to begin with like for instance, why breastfeeding your newborn baby is more substantial than bottle feeding. With a topic as this, this would make a great argument because so many nursing moms and new moms would have a different opinion for each one. Let’s just say that this is the topic for the essay, the writer would need to have a reasoning to back up their argument. From the website webmd.com, the advantages of breastfeeding are: (1) the cost of powdered milk is much more expensive than breast milk, so therefore breast milk is free, (2) the infant will get more nutrients from their mother versus out of a can, (3) it may also contain some fatty acids that promote brain development, (4) it can also save the nursing mom time from having to get up in the middle of the night to prepare a bottle for the baby, and last but not least (5) the new mom could lose weight with breastfeeding, and so much more.
