The practice of collecting water started in ancient human civilization. Since there was no water bottles to collect water with the Roman soldiers would use animal skins, ostrich eggs and earthen jugs. Then in the 18th century people would go to health centers where there was natural mineral springs. Natural mineral was said to have many health benefits if one was to drink, bath, or shower in this water. Businessmen and entrepreneurs got the idea that if they bottled this natural spring water it would make it easier for ones who couldn’t drive to where these springs were, so bottled water was invented (Lee par 10-11). If someone is worried about their tap water being contaminated the Safe Drinking Water Act makes sure that the water is tested four times a year and essentially make sure that the tap water is safe for consumption (Sexton par 3-4).
