Botulinum toxin type A, also known as Botox, has taken over the world. In 2012, the top cosmetic “minimally-invasive” procedure was Botox. Women and men alike are fascinated by Botox’s magical powers. Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian paint the picture that Botox works wonders. People read about Botox in advertisements, blogs and celebrity gossip magazines; this evidently causes a lot of misconceptions about the Botox treatment itself and specifically how it is used. Why do people think Botox is so great? Botox has many side affects, it does not last forever, and it can be very costly. Most importantly, Botox does not work for everyone. Botox was discovered in 1977. Originally, it was used to treat problems with eye muscles.
