ANIMAL TESTING
Animals have been companions to humans for centuries. Animals help us farm more efficiently, reach far places by riding on them, and we even used them for food when required. Since ancient times scientists also experimented on animals to test new techniques of treatment(Of mice and men: the evolution of animal welfare guidelines for cancer research). Evaluating new chemical to potentially cure diseases and help people survive longer. Much progress have been achieved by experimentation first on animals. Selective truth is when you “cheery pick” evidence to support your cause and disregard any evidence against it. While hyperbole is when you exaggerate a truthful statement beyond its original meaning (The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, "Fallacies", Bradley Dowden (2010)). It’s true that some studies using animals are unsuccessful. But the vast majority of them are successful as mentioned above (https://speakingofresearch.com/facts/medical-benefits/). The antagonist use those few unsuccessful ones as a selective truth that animal research don’t work. Then they exaggerate this truth to say “all” animals research are useless and irrelevant. The truth however, can only be obtained? By looking at the big picture. All the thousands of successful and beneficial studies that were done. Which is the main reason why testing is still used today. Science follows logic. If a methods doesn’t work then it will not be used it is as simple as
