Argumentative Essay The play we read in class was called A Raisin in the Sun. Lorraine Hansberry the author of the play wrote about a African American family living in Chicago during segregation. Throughout the play we learned about each of the characters dreams. The character’s dream I found most important was Beneatha Younger. Here’s why I found her dream the most important.

Beneatha Younger a joyful african american with a ton of energy had a dream to attend college and get a doctorate degree. Back when segregation was going on many would say that she would never accomplish her dream. But today anyone could go to college as long as they had the money. She lived with her brother Walter Lee, his wife Ruth, their son Travis, and her mom
