Nintendo Vs. Sony Nintendo and Sony. These two rival companies have played a huge part in the advancement of video games for the past 20 years. Nintendo, a video game manufacturer and licenser, and Sony, an electronics and media producer. Nintendo and Sony share huge differences and similarities, from innovations to producing in-house games, these two computer electronics corporations know games and they know their consumers.
Nintendo, developed their first video game and home console in 1985 and is now the most successful video game manufacturer company of all time with an estimated worth of eighteen billion dollars. This 127-year-old company strives to create new and innovative Ideas, coining the phrase, “Nintendo innovates, others imitate.” Nintendo re-created the gaming industry after the video game crash of 1985. They have some of the most critically acclaimed video game franchises of all time. Also, both companies have dipped their toes in virtual reality. The two companies have at one point sat above each other in terms of success, for instance the PlayStation 2 sold 150 million units and Nintendo’s WII had sold 150 million units. Therefore, both companies have had huge success in the past years.
So in conclusion, Nintendo and Sony are huge companies with varying success, however Nintendo Bested Sony in every way possible. The two understand the market and who they want to sell to Nintendo is more family focused and Sony is more focused on entertainment and mature audiences. these differences make them unique and different their innovations and marketing strategies are weird and unusual but no matter what the rivalry exists and gets stronger every
