One thing that does go along with being involved is making connections. By putting yourself out into the community, you’re making those connections with people who can either talk highly of you by writing letters and recommendations or introduce you to some scholarships and grants by themselves. It’s the difference in thousands of dollars, and it starts your freshman year of High School. Another thing that I wish I knew right off the bat is to apply for anything and everything early on. There are scholarships already for kids in 8th grade all the way up. Your chances of receiving scholarships greatly improve if you put the time and effort in early on.
