I came to the United States on July 8, 2016 with a K1 Fiancé visa. Mr. Yecid Guerrero and I married on August 3, 2016. I had to call the police because my husband left me outside of our home all day without food and/or access to the bathroom. A few days prior, I was beaten by my husband and he took away the house keys and there were constant threats by text stating that I would not be coming home. We are still separated, I 'm living in a shelter. A restraining order against my husband has been presented to the judge and granted.

I cried because that day was important for me. He told me I had pressured him into marriage and from that point on his behavior became increasingly worse. He complained about money, how it was not enough and we could not send money to Colombia. He stated he survived with $80 weekly and that that should be enough for the two of us. Little by little, he started to humiliate me about food. He told me that if a person wanted the papers in this country they had to pay $15,000 for them, I told him I came to become your wife and should not have to pay for that. Meanwhile, my kids money was running out. I told him I have to send money to Colombia because I have a daughter in college and two in high school. He said he was not sending any money to Colombia and that I had to work because it was not enough for my papers, for food, and to send to Colombia. It seemed true what he said as he was always complaining about money, since the purchase of the home I truly believed money was not enough. He told me that if the police found out I was working, I would get deported or that he himself would have me deported, I was so scared. He purchased things for the house and told me that since I was working to pay for the credit cards myself. He was humiliating me all the time. Each day I was more and more fearful as I was being undermined and totally submitted/subjected. I didn 't know how to drive, without money, without knowing anyone in this country, terrified to think of being in jail for working or that he would carry out his
