A growing problem in high schools today is there is not enough preparation for seniors to enter college with confidence. Many administrators overlook this problem because once the students graduate, they are not the problem of the school anymore. This issue should be brought to the high school senior’s attention before they experience serious issues in college and make costly mistakes. That is why students should be taught how to study correctly and get real world experience before graduating. While the schools need to offer a wider variety of classes to the students to get them prepared for life outside of school.

Many kids that grow up in a small town and choose to attend a university in a large town do not know how to handle it. Having the freedom to do what you want and large city to do it in is a complete culture shock. There could be ten thousand more kids in your university than your high school. There can be students from every ethnicity, religious background, and continent around the world. For my town, almost everyone has the same religious background and a lot of the citizens are from Illinois. Even though it would be hard experiencing life in a big city when you live in a small town, schools can make an effort to prepare students for life on their own. For instance, require a class that all seniors have to take that shows them the differences between high school and college. Tell them how much different life can be in college, so they will have at least an idea and do not go into college completely clueless. For many, this would be extremely beneficial before going into college.
In today’s world being prepared is the best thing you can do. If you start being prepared when you are young it will greatly benefit you in the future. In school, you can have a good work ethic and try your best. While schools should help you become prepared for the future with offering the necessary classes and giving you life experiences, so you are not completely culture shocked when you step onto the
