Argumentative Essay: Is There A Creation Or Evolution?

Great Essays
Creation vs. Evolution Is it more reasonable to believe that life came about all of a sudden by chance in a series of undirected events, or that God created life? Some believe that all life descended from a common ancestor, such as inanimate chemicals that slowly evolved into more complex life forms this is known as evolution. Yet some believe that God programmed to develop in such a way that chemicals evolved to produce mankind. But what does evidence reveal about these non-living chemicals? Scientific research shows that life absolutely cannot occur from non-living matter and that if the creation of complex molecules such as RNA, DNA, or a protein required the skill of a scientist, could the much more complex molecules within a cell arisen on accident? Therefore, it is more logical to believe that God created the universe and everything in it than evolution because it does not qualify as a scientific theory, because a “simple” cell is too complex to have arisen by accident, and because the natural world gives evidence of a creator. Evolution does not qualify as a scientific hypothesis let alone an indisputable theory. Although many respected and scientists believe that Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution has advanced all scientific understanding and has completely liberated mankind from all superstitious beliefs, evidence clearly proves the opposite. Evolutionist William B. Provine says: “What we have learned about the evolutionary process has enormous implications for us, affecting our sense of meaning in life.” His conclusion? “I can see no cosmic or ultimate meaning in human life.” If life came about by accident then our universe and everything in it would be worthless and completely in vain. On the other hand if creation were true, life would have a true meaning and people could find satisfying answers to questions about the purpose of life and what the future

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change” – Charles Darwin. Evolution is “the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth”. The theory of evolution has become one of the most controversial topics in science because of how the public reacts to the contents of the theory. The theory is controversial because it posses the debate of whether God or a supreme being played a role in the process of evolution or that humans have evolved naturally over time. Many opponents of the theory argue that science is a knowledge that can only be repeated, demonstrated, and observed and evolution can only be believed in.…

While there is a belief that humans have evolved from apes, religion has an explanation. Evolution is the theory that modern life has descended from a common ancestor, through the process of natural selection. Faith on the other hand, claims that life was created in the form it is today with some alterations from God. Since evolution was found it has been debated by all faiths. Evolution generates an explanation for the origin of life which is not necessary when there is religion, logic, and evidence explaining each aspect.…

There has always been much controversy over your theory of evolution; a theory that has lasted or almost 160 years, with not a single piece of evidence presented that disproves the fundamental validity of that theory. In fact, it is being supported time and time again by fossil records. However, thats not to say your theory is perfect. The point of a theory is not to be perfect. The ideas you have presented, however, are the best and most scientifically grounded ideas we have about the way species evolve and change.…

Truths Observed in Nature Demonstrate a Judeo-Christian God Exists When looking at religious beliefs from generations before us, the Judeo-Christian God, the creator, is referred to as “The essence of goodness, love, justice, compassion, and mercy; the protector of the innocent and the faithful; the enemy of the wicked and the infidel. God is pure spirit with no material substance and neither beginning nor end” (White, pg. 284). These arguments of God’s existence are believed to have not been established beyond suspicion.…

God’s work is evident in DNA. Deoxyribonucleic acid in our cells is very similar to an intricate computer program. Binary code is made up of 1’s and 0’s, similarly DNA is made up of A,T,G, and C. They are arranged and lined up in a sequence, and the order in which they are placed instructs the cell’s actions. Although DNA is passed down, it has distinct characteristics that make it yours. This is the reason why when there is a crime scene and your DNA is found, they know exactly who you are (126).…

I don’t have much personal experience with this subject, but when I was younger, I was taught this. I didn’t take it in for a second, because I was raised in a Christian home, and I was taught that God created the world in six days. God did not create this world using evolution, because if He did, then He would be a God who doesn’t know how to get things right first time, and He would’ve been a cruel, evil God. My God gets things right the first time, and He is not cruel or evil. He is a loving, holy, but a just God.…

In the essay, “Evolution as Fact and Theory,” Stephen Gould defenses Charles Darwin’s theory of Evolution over the beliefs of creationist on God creating all organisms in the world. To further his support, he states his three arguments which are observational evidence, the imperfection of nature, and transitions found in fossil records to demonstrate that even though evolution is just a theory, there are plentiful evidence of facts that supports it. The essay was not just about justifying the theory of evolution to the creationist but also to reject the ideas of blindfolded views on scientific creationism. Throughout the essay, Gould acknowledges many of the major perspectives of the scientific world to support the theory of evolution that…

Ultimately, the arrival of the theory of evolution displaced the need to invoke God to explain the order of the natural world. The early design arguments took the order and complexity of biological systems such as the eye and beseeched God as an explanation of them. The theory of evolution can now explain how simple organisms developed into the complex beings that we see around us, and obviously are ourselves. It may be, then, that these arguments from design are no longer compelling. C) Defense There is very good scientific evidence for the evolving, ordered appearance of species, from simple to complex.…

Evolution vs Religion For hundreds of years, religion and science have not gotten along well. Each, having their own view, they try to convince or say that the others view is wrong and that should not be taught. Hundreds of years ago, famous scientists have been tried by the church due to their beliefs, only because they do not agree with the church and go against the bible. Now, science is something that many believe in because there is prof of where the scientists ideas come from but even so, religious conservatives argue the facts. Evolution is a big reoccurring conflict in both science and religion dating back to the 1800’s when Charles Darwin published his book, The Origin of Species and even earlier.…

Evolution has received mostly negative feedback from society, especially from non-scientists. Perhaps, evolution is controversial because it speaks to the beginning of humanity. Controversy originated from individuals’ religious backgrounds and faith in a higher being but they do not consider the definition of evolution. Noted by David Jacobs—Professor of Animal Evolution and Systematics at the University of Cape Town, non-scientists believe evolution states that human evolved from baboons. However, evolution only claims that humans and other non-human primates share a common ancestor (Jacobs, 2015).…

“It is no the strongest of species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” This quote was once said by the father of evolution himself, Charles Darwin who spent his life’s work on learning all he can about evolution. In the world we live in all organisms change, and were not the same thousands of years ago as they are today. There are two main theories to this process; scientific theory and religious theory.…

Creation versus evolution is a world renowned topic that has been argued upon for an extended period of time, by a wide collection of people. There are many people with very different facts on each, but in the end it is still an ongoing debate. Scholars for Creationism have their arguments, but scientists also have their arguments. There are things that have resemblance for both, but they can’t seem to come up with a compromise of where the first atom came from.…
