Is Medical Marijuana Safe?

Marijuana or cannabis has been used for years recreationally which can prove to be harmful. However, it can be used in doses for the betterment of medical purposes and can be safer than opioids, it’s not just used by people looking to get high.. Although illegal, it has positive effects on the mind, body, diseases and is safer than lots of painkillers. Marijuana or cannabis is a flowering plant that was originally natural to central Asia and India, however has been brought to be used as a use of pleasurement and fun activity. Such as getting high with friends. As a recent study says,”According to the 2012 Monitoring the Future (MTF) Study, 45.3% of U.S. 12th graders reported having used marijuana once or more in their lifetime, with 22.9% reporting use in the previous 30 days.” However, I feel we can move past illegally using marijuana and we should be able to use it for medical purposes, as it can help to treat lots of deadly diseases imminent in today’s society.

AIDS/HIV is a disease that weakens and destroys the body’s immune system making them susceptible to diseases. It is transmitted in many ways, all of which include contact through blood. like cancer does not have a known cure but can be treated. As a recent study shows, “ Even though no cure has been discovered yet, HIV/AIDS patients can still find some relief for their symptoms with medical marijuana.
