To many high school graduates, college has become mandatory if they want to have opportunities of getting high paying and quality jobs. However, the majority of high school graduates are not able to apply for a college of their dreams because of the high requirements in college admission or can not even afford the tuition due their lack of financial ability. There will be a large amount of people arguing that the investment such as student loan in higher education will eventually payoff in the long run but they do not know that the risk of getting into debt after graduation is a much higher than they think.
The only reason that convinces students to take the risk of getting into debt by getting student loans is the amount of money that they think that they can gain back after graduation. There are a good amount of jobs out there that only require a high school diploma or less. Besides that not everyone want to take a risk of carrying a huge amount of debt after graduation. Because of those reasons, I can see that why many people believe that a college degree is useless. As on my perspective, people don’t have to go to college just because their parents tell them to. Colleges would be pointless for those who don’t even want them at the first place. Remember that college doesn’t make you successful. The knowledge and experience that you gain throughout the years of college are the things that drive you to success. If college doesn’t seem to fit you, it is not bad idea to try out a basic job and work your way up there.
