have on your mind when you're about to have an interview to apply for a school or university, but calm

“Tell me about yourself”. It looks like an easy question, right? But no, it's not. You have to be mentally

prepared for this question, because it is constantly used, and why? Because interviewers know what

they want to hear. They don't want stuff like “I'm friendly, responsible,

“Why do you want to attend this school?”. This seems like a pretty obvious question, but you have to go

a little deeper to answer it. If you're thinking in possible options like “your college is prestigious”, “my

friends are going to your college”, “it is close to home” or “I'll have a great job with a degree from your

college”, you better forget about them, interviewers already consider the school you are applying for as

“prestigious”. To give a good answer, first of all, you must do some previous research to know the

system of the school and what kind of students and characteristics they are looking for; as soon as you

get all the information, think about the qualities you have that matches the college. When the interview

takes place, talk about yourself and those things that can make you happy at this college, this will make

them see a genuine interest.

“Who is/are your hero/s?”. The question can be structured in many different ways, for example “who

has most influenced you?” or “who is your role model?”, but the objective is the same: they want you to

talk about who you admire. When interviewers ask this question, it's often because they want to
