Why should the way children receive their education get in the way of sports? All sports/academic opportunities should be the same for all students, home schooled or not. As long as any child attending regular classes is inside a public school’s district, and they desire to play a sport for a public school team, that student should be allowed to with no argument. If a home schooled student is denied the right to play on a pubic school sporting team, that student’s dreams and ambition are demolished. For example, if I were home schooled and I requested to play a sport and was denied to play by a public school, my heart would shatter in a million pieces. I would feel like I was not good enough or thought enough of to play on a public school team, because there would be no difference in how I played whether I was home schooled or attending public schools. Home schooled children might be look upon differently by the fact that they are home schooled, but that doesn’t mean that they would stand out any differently on a volleyball court or softball field.
