They are born out of circumstances and rise to the occasion when their spirit can no longer coexist with the hypocrisy injustice to others.” However not everyone can be a hero. Heroes need the courage and strength to persevere through difficult situations. Heroes are selfless and may not always be brawny figures, but average audacious individuals. Heroism is not always being able to save everyone, but is sacrificing for the sake of doing good, and is the determination to serve others at whatever cost. For instance, Martin Luther King Jr. risked his own life to stand up for what he believed was right. In a quote by King, he says, “If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but by all means, keep moving.” King is saying that no matter what you can do, you have to keep pushing forward. To this day, his legacy has motivated many to do the same. In the fictional movie, The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen shows that she is a born leader through her hard working actions. She says, “Some walks you have to take alone.” As she also has to make many sacrifices during the movies, such as volunteering herself in place of her sister to represent her district in the Hunger Games. She never gives up and is extremely brave. Her character is truly inspirational. Likewise, Malala Yousafzai is an advocate for girls’ education. Malala is the youngest person to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize at age 17. Even while receiving death threats Malala risked her life for girls’ education. She fought for what she thought was right, as she states, “If one man can destroy everything, why can’t one girl change it?” This quote is powerful because she shows many that men and women are equal, and deserve an equal education.
