Steps can be taken to reduce criminals from getting a hold of weapons with tougher screening. This will only be the beginning of a new black market, and the majority of citizens who abide by the law would lose their constitutional right to bear arms. The NRA believes, if we put people through seminars and training, prior to purchasing a gun, and teach them how to care for their guns, and how to protect their guns would reduce a lot of crime, considering most guns are stolen by a family member. The idea that merely having a gun is all that contributed to this tragedy is certainly not the only issue. For example, in Colorado, what would happen in the movie theater had other individuals had guns and not properly trained?
