Argumentative Essay Charlie Gordon should not have had the surgery. Charlie Gordon, a mentally impaired man is a given hope by a surgery that was supposed to “fix” Charlie. The operation ended up backfiring with extremely devastating results. After the surgery societies problems became a reality for Charlie. Another thing that occurred to Charlie due to the operation was that Charlie ultimately turned into a human experiment! The surgery had failed. Since Algernon, had died Charlie could realistically could expect his own demise. Although Charlie’s intellect soared beyond specified predictions, the failure of the surgery- quite shocking for Charlie- was an uncontrollable variable! The doctors, opportunists, could not rectify, the remedy for this traumatic outcome. Only Charlie, the genius, could analyze the surgery’s inherit problematic components, at this point Charlie did not regret having the surgery: nevertheless, he should not have been an experimental humanoid.
Charlie did not regret having the surgery at first. In the beginning stages Charlie was willing to accept the world for how it was and enjoyed learning. Although in the later stages Charlie realized that taking the surgery was a mistake.
