Argumentative Essay: Everyone Should Use The Bathroom

Decent Essays
Lately in the news there has been some controversy in the news about transgenders using the bathrooms they claim they have to use. Recently Donald Trump has made a statement about transgenders saying he has no problem with transgender people using whatever bathroom they chose. In my opinion I think that transgenders should use the sex of gender they were born with until there transformation is complete. I think they should make a separate bathroom for transgenders or since they are in the process (unisex) . I mean if it was just one single bathroom with one toilet and it was meant to be used for both sexs then I don’t think that we should worry about anything because nobody else would be in there with you. Obama says he disagrees with the transgender law. He …show more content…
It depends on how you think of this. If you are totally against it then you should think that transgenders should use the bathroom sex they were born with. If you don't care then you don't care which they choose. If you do care then you should probably think that trans should use the bathroom of their choice, whatever they feel comfortable with.
I think that they should make a uisex bathroom, for all sex. In all stores, restaurants, parks, etc, and what I mean by that is they should have a female's restroom, a male's restroom and a unisex restroom. I don't think they should make any rules at school about the students if they are transgender. Let them use what they feel comfortable with but they can't just go to the females and then the same day go to the males. I think that is the only rule they should have, in all places. If I were to be trans and they made the law to be where you should use the bathroom sex that you were born with then I would be a little mad. I think people should have some respect and privacy. They should use the restroom without being judged or criticized about it. Its their decision let them make it, not the

This statement immediately shows Thiessen’s awareness of the problems that may be caused by biological men that use women’s restrooms or changing rooms. Thiessen argues that instead of the law allowing any person to enter the gendered-facility of his/her choice, public areas should provide access to single-room bathrooms or changing-rooms that are for transgendered people. This one-person room allows a person to use whichever facility that he/she identifies with, but it also protects women and children from being exposed to someone who falsely claims the identity of a transgender. Transgenders should not be restricted in their ease of relieving their bladders because some cannot be bothered to use a stall. When presidential candidate Ben Carson was asked of his opinion on the debate over which bathroom transgender people could use, he said: How about we have a transgender bathroom? It is not fair for them to make everybody else uncomfortable. It’s one of the things that I don’t particularly like about the [LGBT] movement. I think everybody has equal rights, but I’m not sure that anybody should have extra rights-- extra rights when it comes to redefining everything for everybody else and imposing your view on everybody else (Berenson).…

All transgender people want is to be able to relieve themselves in peace without being harassed or stared at. Public restrooms are for everyone, and trans people deserve the opportunity to use them just like every other normal person. All employers are legally required to provide workers with reasonable access to restroom facilities-transgender or not (The Human Rights Campaign). There was a bill proposed right here in Indiana by a lawmaker that would make it illegal for anyone to use a public restroom that doesn’t align with the gender they were assigned at birth. This bill was put into action by Republican state Senator Jim Tomes, who believes that “If you…

Most bathroom bills that have recently been proposed aim to make sure trans people can only use public bathrooms that match the sex indicated in their birth certificate. This means that a trans woman who was born male will not be allowed to use a female bathroom in a mall or a restaurant. It might seem like too much trouble to go through in an effort to limit a trans person’s use of the bathroom, but…

Nobody can see the fetus, so they believe that the fetus isn’t considered a human yet. Dr. Stephan Schwarz, a Rhode Island University philosophy teacher, states, “Abortion is a civil rights issue just like racial justice for blacks, or equal treatment for the handicapped and all minorities” (Haven Bradford Gow). The phrase “equal treatment “ shows that everyone should have the same basic rights and that means fetuses too. Babies shouldn’t have to fight for their rights because it’s suppose to be given to them when they were conceived. What would you do if something that meant a lot to you was taken away and you couldn 't do anything to get it…

Budziszewski said “In retribution the spur is the virtue of indignation, which answers injury with injury for public good. Retribution is the primary purpose of just punishment as such. Rehabilitation, protection, and deterrence have a lesser status in punishment than retribution.” (early orthodox). Those who just serve a sentence can be let out early because of good behavior and before you know it they’re back in a society which they already proved that they are incapable of living in. Not only women but everybody should have the right to do whatever they want with their body and have the right to have privacy when making a decision especially when it’s about abortion, we all don’t know the circumstances of the abortion and that’s okay because in reality why should we care what a stranger decides that does not even affect us?…

Just because individuals are human they have the same rights and values as every other human being. These rights include freedom, autonomy, and privacy. The downside to this theory is that it can create “individualistic selfish behavior” (Fremgen, 2016, p. 11). Parental involvement in the minor’s sexual health decisions would go against the minor’s rights of making autonomous decisions about their healthcare (Girma and Paton, 2013). Everyone is entitled to privacy so disclosing information to their parents would go against their confidentiality.…
