As soon as your bring your new pooch into your home you've created a pack, and the most important rule in the pack is that you protect each other. Dogs will go to all lengths to protect their owners from harm. It is known that cats would rather protect themselves rather than help their owners. That extraordinary sense of

Whereas dogs love nothing more than a good tug of war. They will show so much enthusiasm as soon as they see that perfectly round tennis ball you hold in your hand ready to throw, jumping up trying to grab at it while their tongue just flaps about in the air, saliva dripping everywhere. Dogs will never turn down a game, they even think that learning tricks such as play dead is fun. You have to admit playing with a dog is pretty fun, even for you. Its entertaining to watch our four legged companions roll about or jump high into the air to catch a ball only to land in water and come back out soaking wet, shake, and then you end up looking like you've took a shower. But all you can do is laugh. I think dogs bring out an inner child in all of us, the child that just loves to play all day long. All this playing can burn a lot of calories so again dogs still think than going on a run or hike is playing, so bring them along with you or your next run and trust me you will both enjoy

In the United States, there are approximately 74-96 million owned cats in comparison to the 70-80 million owned dogs. Meaning that you are more likely to own a cat. I never understood this as a dog lover, because cats seem to just be a “lazy person’s dog.” Cats seem to lack all the good qualities of a dog such as: loyalty, obedience, playfulness, and so forth. Those that I know that own cats just seem to like them because they are easier to take care of, and that they require less attention than a dog.…

Unfortunately, small children and sometimes even adults can unknowingly do this. Constantly chasing or teasing a dog when it's not in a playful mood, pulling at its ears, placing one's face in its face, hugging it tightly (this is primate behavior, not canine), and taking away its food while it's eating, are unacceptable behaviors for many dogs. Teach your children these "no-no's" and don't allow rambunctious play with the dog. When other children are visiting, never leave your dog unsupervised with them. These children don't belong to the pact and your dog won't behave as an omega around them.…
