Argumentative Essay: Do Aliens Exist?

it is no secret that the universe we live in is colossal. Billions of galaxies among galaxies, each of them possibly containing planets and worlds of their own; which begs the question: are we the only living creatures existing in this universe? Up until this moment, scientists have not found any evidence of living things in this universe except here on Earth, but there are many convincing arguments that propose we are not alone. Knowing that there are more planets in the universe than the sum of all sounds and words ever said by every human who has ever lived, it would be very egocentric of us to believe that Earth must be the only planet that supports life. One form of possible evidence of there being life beyond Earth, are the unidentified …show more content…
Dozens of others, gathered from my own as well as from Project Blue Book files, could fill this chapter and much more.
Many other incidents have been reported such as the UFO crash in Aurora, Texas year 1897, which was five years before the first flight experiment was done; so seeing a flying object was a very strange sight at the time. UFO sightings have not only been reported on Earth but also in space by astronauts such as Robert White, Major Gordon Cooper and many others. Despite the lack of clear answers, it is foolish to ignore and dismiss these UFO sighting reports only because we cannot comprehend them.
Other people, however, disagree completely with the idea that UFOs are debatable mysteries that may or may not be from another planet carrying within them extra-terrestrial beings. An unusual looking flying object seen in the sky shouldn’t immediately mean ‘Aliens’! Comets, rockets, military jets, weather balloons, fireballs, satellites, meteors, experimental craft, and odd looking clouds can all be mistaken for UFO’s. James Oberg, a former NASA employee who worked in mission control, set out to disprove decades' worth of UFO sightings using his professional expertise in space missions. “…he’s come to an interesting conclusion: human senses, evolved in and trained on (relatively) slow-moving objects, certain light conditions, and an atmosphere, get thrown into a [panic] when those conditions change” (Giaimo, 2016). In 2015, an unknown object was seen shooting across the night sky and then erupted leaving behind it a bright tale of blue

What the U.S didn’t know was that all of it was faked. I had always been fascinated by modern mysteries and conspiracy theories, but before this class, I had no clue what to accept and how to analyze the information that I was presented to me. I chose the topic of the Moon Landing, because it enabled me to take a second look at the conspiracy theory through a new lens of experience. To understand where this idea of a hoax originates, we need to understand what was going on before the Apollo 11 moon landing. Starting in the 1950s, America was in a cold war with Soviet Russia, which was less of a physical battle and more of a challenge of who had a better structured government. It was a challenge of superiority that eventually led to the space race in 1955.…

Last autumn I found myself among the mountains of Tibet, wandering through the high desert created by the rain shadow of the mighty Himalayas, looking up at the cascade of unblinking stars that stretched across the night sky. The stars, in their steady glow, revealed a rather strange sight that I could best describe as being both disturbing and fascinating at the same time. It felt like they were giving me an exclusive window to look at the inner workings of the world and everything in it. According to the scientific community, the universe began its "life" roughly 14 billion years ago when space, time and even the atoms in our bodies formed in less than a blink of an eye.…

There has always been much controversy over your theory of evolution; a theory that has lasted or almost 160 years, with not a single piece of evidence presented that disproves the fundamental validity of that theory. In fact, it is being supported time and time again by fossil records. However, thats not to say your theory is perfect. The point of a theory is not to be perfect. The ideas you have presented, however, are the best and most scientifically grounded ideas we have about the way species evolve and change.…
