A 26 years old woman is recovering knife injuries at Nanyuki Teaching and Referral hospital after she was stabbed with a knife by her estranged husband for refusing to have sex with him.

Nancy Gatwiri was stabbed on the left cheek below the ear by her husband Stephen Karanja after denying him sex though they separated more than one year ago.

Gatwiri said her husband of five years wanted her back to his home and went ahead to pay dowry of two goats to her family and an extra goat as fine for insulting his in-laws when they were parting ways.

The mother of two said that her husband delivered the goats and since he was apologetic, the family agreed they reconcile but the ceremony was to be conducted in two weeks time.
