Argumentative Essay: Community Colleges Vs. Universities

In order to find a good job and have a good life in the future, many high school students plan to continue acquiring a higher education degree in the college. Mackle is a senior high school student. He is going to graduate from his high school. Recently, he has come up with a question: should I go to a community college for the first two years, then transfer to a university, or directly go to a four-year university? He considers that the university could be a good choice because the reputation of universities is much higher that community colleges. However, he and his parents realize that there is not quite enough money in the saving account. If he chooses to attend to the university directly after graduating from high school, then his family will spend all the money for his tuition, which means his family’s life will be in unstable. They can take general education courses at the community college first, and then enjoy college life in their third or fourth year at the university. It is not hard to get involved in the university life. “Most universities provide services for transfer students that make it easier to engage in the social life of the campus” (Community colleges vs. Universities). So, this service makes transfer students’ lives easier. Whether a student is transfer students or four-year university students, they will receive the same bachelor’s degree in the end. We should not have a feeling of shame when we tell someone that we are attending a community college. In fact, we are saving tons of money and lower family expenditure.
