Yes, I feel it is my responsibility to work and achieve more because of our ancestors work hard to make it better for them and us with speeches/protests , sit-ins , being beaten/killed , never giving up , breaking unfair laws , being incarcerated ,and the bravery to stand up. These people help end segregation , end slavery , and the struggle for equality; martin Luther king, Rosa parks, Carl brasher, john brown, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln,nelson Mandela,Susan b. Anthony, and web dubious , They all encourage me to be the best that I can.

Slaves were beaten if they didn’t do something right or disobeyed their owner there even killed from being beaten so bad or they were just hanged. Some slave mostly men sticking up for their wife they might disobey the owner you gotta have bravery for that especially if the mother is sticking up for there kids.Slaves went through these horrible things so we don't have
